Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are captured/stored by your Harley's ECU when a problem occurs so that a tech can diagnose and hopefully fix the problem later on. GaugeFace lets you...

Luca's Speedmaster

Found a great 3D graphic of an Omega Speedmaster that Luca Cugia from Italy did using Blender. He sent me a derived rendering to use as a GaugeFace and it worked out pretty well I'd say.

Thanks Luca! Checkout his other work on Pinko3D. Now available as a free install in the GaugeFace app.

App version 1.5 approved!

Version 1.5 of the GaugeFace app was recently approved May 23rd, 2011 and made available in the iTunes App Store shortly thereafter. Please fire up the App Store app on your iPhone or iPod touch and update to the new version.

You may have noticed the updated "Skully" Logo and Icon images on the Web site to coincide with this release... hope you like the new look. There are some nice new features in this update (Check engine, fuel level, shift light, battery voltage, VIN & DTCs) that I hope you like! More info can be found on the new Features page at http://gaugeface.com/features/.

The Evil Stanley, Fat Stan, Alien & Mil Spec GaugeFaces were updated to include some new v1.5 features. If you installed these prior to v1.5 - delete/re-install to see the updates. If I missed updating your favourite GaugeFace... just let me know and I'll fix it up too.

Looking for a digital gauge for your Harley... Check out Steve Drane Harley-Davidson and ask about GaugeFace at the Parts Department!

I'm hoping for a V-Rod Muscle or a Fat Boy Lo to be in my garage one day... can't decide which model though. Add some nice Roland Sands Design stuff too of course. Come on Steve & Roland, hook me up!

Updated app version 1.4 available.

Version 1.4 of the GaugeFace app was made available on the iTunes App Store earlier today.

A few minor fixes are in this release along with the introduction of new GaugeFaces (skins) called "Hudster" and "Fat Stan".

- new minimum requirement for iOS version 4.2.
- improved ECU processing pipeline to deal with more data from the ECU and iOS.
- support for digital gauge views of tach data (not just circular and linear views).

Firmware Update 1.0.2

If you purchased and used GaugeFace before the start of March 2011 you will notice something new when you start the app on your iPhone or iPod touch.

We have posted firmware update (v1.0.2) and the app will help you install it. Just follow the on screen direction, connect up to your Harley and turn on the ignition switch to power the bike. You do not need to have your bike in a completed running state however.

Once connected, the app will install the new firmware and this process generally takes 30 to 45 seconds. At the end of the install process the hardware will re-connect and that is all there is to it.

What is this update for? We updated the firmware to help the GaugeFace hardware adapter maintain a more reliable communication line with an iPhone or iPod touch. With the previous firmware, the potential for a system disconnection was found with older iPhone 3G devices that use iOS 4.2.

Test drove at 1 °C (34 °F)

Chilly day for a test drive today... 1 °C before factoring in windchill.

Got tired of waiting for good weather so I loaded up into the trailer to get to the highway.

Version 1.3 of the iPhone app is looking stable as is v1.0.2 of the new firmware update. I'll tweet when it gets accepted into the App Store.
